DEMSA Members
To apply for DEMSA membership please contact at info@demsa.co.uk and title your email DEMSA Membership and one of the team will be in contact to discuss this with you.
All prospective Full and Affiliate members will complete an application form. Those that are already subject to full FCA permissions are not required to undertake an audit. Those that are applying for full permissions in debt counselling and debt adjusting are likely to be subject to an on-site visit, which is separately chargeable to the membership fees.
Full and Affiliate membership of DEMSA is reliant upon debt management companies being able to demonstrate that they comply with the FCA Handbook and the standards set out in the DEMSA Code of Conduct.
We encourage members to take advantage of training and compliance support services provided by DEMSA.
Types of DEMSA Membership:
Full Member
To become a Full member of DEMSA you must be a fully Authorised Debt Management firm with permissions for; Debt Counselling, Debt Adjustment and holding client money.
The cost for Full membership varies depending on the size of your business, please get in contact for more information.
Associate Member
To become an Associate member of DEMSA you must be a non Debt Management firm. Associate members are businesses that provide services for those working within the Debt Management sector, for example; Software providers, Compliance support, those providing professional indemnity cover.
The cost of Associate membership is £250 per year.
Affiliate Member
To become an Affiliate member of DEMSA you must be a firm that is regulated to provide Debt Counselling services.
The cost of Affiliate membership is £500 per year.
Insolvency Member
To become and Insolvency member of DEMSA you mus be a licenced Insolvency Practitioner.
The cost of Insolvency membership is £500 per year.
